infinitive vs gerund
INFINITIVE (to):
- after adjectives I’m happy to meet you.
- after certain verbs I plan to leave on Monday.
- after superlatives Joe was the first to finish the race.
GERUND:
- subject of the sentence Smoking is bad for you.
- after certain verbs I hate doing my homework.
- after certain expressions I’m looking forward to meeting Jane.
- after prepositions I’m thinking about travelling to Italy.
- with go Let’s go hiking on Saturday.
