infinitive vs gerund

INFINITIVE (to):
  • after adjectives I’m happy to meet you.
  • after certain verbs I plan to leave on Monday.
  • after superlatives Joe was the first to finish the race.
GERUND:
  • subject of the sentence    Smoking is bad for you.
  • after certain verbs I hate doing my homework.
  • after certain expressions I’m looking forward to meeting Jane.
  • after prepositions I’m thinking about travelling to Italy.

  • with go Let’s go hiking on Saturday.
